We have a Hatch in another room and like a lot of things about it, but the app dependency had become a friction point - especially for our kids, who would have to find a parent every time they wanted to change something. The Dreamegg was the swap. Buttons on the device. No app. The kids figured it out themselves the first night.We have it in our guest room at home and have brought it with us when we travel to smaller hotels. White noise is the only function I actually use - I cannot speak to the other sound options - but for that one job it does exactly what I need.WHAT WORKS- No app. This is the headline. The controls are on the device, the layout is intuitive, and the kids can operate it themselves without needing a parent to log in to anything.- White noise is plenty loud. We push it near the top on noisier hotel nights and it more than covers hallway sound.- Travels well. Small enough to slide into a carry-on. Plug it in and it works - no re-pairing to a different Wi-Fi network at every hotel because there is no Wi-Fi to re-pair to.- Build feels solid for the price. Not a flimsy plastic puck like some of the cheaper ones.WHAT DOES NOT- The flip side of 'no app' is that there is no app. If you want to schedule changes remotely, fade volume from your phone, or control the device from another room, this is not that product. Buy a Hatch.- I only use the white noise function. The other sounds (lullabies, fan, rain, etc.) exist on the device but I cannot speak to how they perform. If those matter to you, check reviews that specifically cover them.WHO IT IS FORParents who want a simple, durable, kid-operable sound machine and do not want to manage another app on their phone. Anyone who travels with a sound machine and is tired of re-pairing devices to hotel Wi-Fi. People who only need solid white noise and do not need a smart-home appliance.Five stars. This is a great sound machine. I love it so much. My daughter only sleeps with it on otherwise she won't sleep and it has helped us a lot during those long sleepless nights with her. Since we got the machine she is a different baby. It has an alarm clock and also the light buttons light up which makes it easy to see in the dark. It isn't super light because of it in our baby's room which l appreciate because my baby likes to sleep in the dark. I am very happy with my purchase.

It has a 3.5 mm stereo audio output connection. Perfect to use with wired speakers or a Bluetooth transmitter. I have a set of wired bookend speakers that sound great. The clock face brightness is adjustable. The sleep sounds are good. The trasition from sleep sound to alarm is slightly gradual over a few seconds as the light fades on. The alarm and sleep sound volume can be set separately. It has 3 timer settings for sleep noise or it will just play continuously. It has a 9 min alarm snooze.More alarm choices Would be nice.Only one alarm setting.

This clock is amazing, especially as a new mom. Having an alarm and sound machine in one is so helpful for my routine and my baby’s sleep. It’s convenient, easy to use, and perfect for late nights and early mornings.

Great sound machine alarm clock

I've been looking for this clock for years...it is a noise machine and an alarm clock with sounds other than loud, piercing beeps. It was so easy to set up and listen to the many sounds for white noise and for the alarm. It is also small - tiny, really, and just the size I had in mind for my small nightstand. It looks great with my new Edison-style cage lamp. I'm very happy so far.

Lots of great features and works as expected. An addition to consider - On/off button slightly raised or with something tactile to find it in the dark if one wants to turn it off without added lighting.

I love this alarm and sound machine. I get to wake up gradually to birds chirping at a volume that suits me. Well designed.

Love the simplicity of settings and easy to read time even from a distance. Fits well in any decor. Good price, too.

So far so good. It has great sound and I’ve found a sleep music/noise that seems to work for me.

We previously had the battery operated version. It was convenient, but we very rarely move the sound machine from the nightstand so it wasn't a function we needed. This thing is great for helping us get good sleep and cover/blend in with outside noise. I've found that while I'm sleeping in silence, many sounds wake me. With the sound machine playing, outside sounds don't tend to disturb me.

I am 84 years old and a light sleeper. I have been using Brookstone Tranquil Moments Advanced Sleep Sounds Machine to help me sleep for over 20 years. I finally found a machine that has similar features that the old Brokstone machine has. It works perfectly for my needs! Life saver! I work rotating 12 hours shifts. Overnight is really tuff and my sleep habits are all over the place. I also have young kids who are loud and sometimes thoughtless. Trying to sleep during the day on the weekends when everyone is home is pointless. I tried a box fan, not strong enough. I tried apps on my phone not strong enough. This little gem works wonders. I am eternally grateful! I can put it on a low setting or turn it up enough to drown out an earthquake. It is attractive so having it on the nightstand isn’t an eye sore.

I love this alarm clock. It suits my needs perfectly. It is compact and easy to use. Much better than my last one which was so complicated you needed a degree in engineering to set the time. I also love the soothing wake up options and nightlight feature. I would buy again.

Very useful for life with littles. We got two, one for each bedroom. The white noise selection is great, and the sound quality is perfect. Ease of use with the controls is pretty straight forward and the ability to control how bright the light is is very helpful for a low light night light for our kids. P

I really like how the clock interface can be turned off completely. The range of sounds is great, and it looks sleek and modern on my nightstand. Would recommend!

Actually love this alarm clock, only nitpick is that the light doesn’t dim to come on, it just turns on at full brightness.

Love this little machine! I wanted an “old fashioned” alarm clock because my phone alarm was unreliable, AND it replaced my noise machine too! Definitely recommend to anyone who needs both.

After ordering many other options this was the sixth I tried and it works perfectly. Dimmable screen, you can turn down the volume on the alarm, there are a wide range of alarm sounds and white noises, controls are intuitive, multiple alarms, and the buttons are easily found for snoozing, etc. perfect, inexpensive option.
